My love for Ajrakh
For years, I’ve been drawn to Ajrakh — the rhythmic symmetry of its motifs, the deep earthy hues of natural dyes, and the centuries-old stories woven into every print. This ancient craft from Kutch and Sindh is a slow, deliberate art of resist printing, where layers of natural indigo, madder red, and deep black come together through countless washes and sun-drying. It’s a process that embraces patience and tradition, and every piece carries that quiet strength. After holding this love close for so long, I’ve finally brought my own Ajrakh collection to life. I call it Saanjh, a dusk-hued story that brings the bold beauty of Ajrakh into a contemporary wardrobe. I wanted to wear something truly special for my pellikuthuru, and it felt like the perfect moment to share this with the world.
